The day after my last entry, Alex emailed me and told me that John didn't want to know who his real parents were, and that this was little to do with his foster mother not wanting to tell him. His birthname is Gerard McGowan at least that is what she thinks. He runs a web design business unsucessfully according to her, and seems to not want to pay for his daughters.
Oh well.
